This is a basic reference book for managing human resource issues in your business. Unless you're able to have a full-time human resource department, this book should prove handy. Here are a few examples of what it covers:
- What to do in sticky and uncomfortable employee situations.
- Answers about questions for compensation and benefits or discipline and termination. There are over 200 questions and answers such as these.
- Employee recruitment includes detailed descriptions of some of the best ways of finding candidates, conducting interviews, testing prospects, and making job offers. This includes such things as what questions to ask a candidate on the phone before even scheduling an interview.
- Creating the employee handbook, detailed guidance and suggestions.
- When to use an attorney.
- A resource guide with dozens of addresses, websites, and telephone numbers of the agencies and organizations can provide valuable information.
- And lastly, information on exit interviews and sample forms.
It's not a book that would be fun to read, but it's a book that may give you a quick reference and probably should be on most CEO's bookshelves.
