Drucker Award to the Computer Museum
by

The Computer Clubhouse at The Computer Museum received the 1997 Peter F. Drucker Award for Nonprofit Innovation. The award is given each year to a nonprofit in recognition of an innovative program that made a difference in the lives of the people it serves—producing results that exemplify Peter Drucker's definition of innovation: change that creates a new dimension of performance. The award is accompanied by a $25,000 prize and a specially produced video of the winning program.

The Computer Clubhouse is a learning community were young people use technology to develop new skills and new ways of thinking about learning and themselves. Young people, ages 10 to 18, develop computer-based projects using advanced equipment, inspired by their own ideas, and supported by adult mentors who guide their work and serve as role models. The museum has launched five satellite clubhouses and aims to establish a network of Clubhouses across the country and around the work. To get your museum connected contact Gail Breslow, 617-426-2800, breslow@tcm.org.
